Question by chwcs: Should illegal aliens in the USA be offered citizenship to fight in the war with the Terrorists?
Do you feel it would stop all of the illegal alliens in our country from being exploited. I feel that if they want to become americans they should have to help defend our country. I also believe that it would lower our cost to maintain them and give them back their dignity. That by fighting they become americian. Our founding fathers fought so that we could be free and become Indenpendent. All of us had come from different countries (with the execption of the americian native indians) I feel that if they want our rights then they should have to defend those rights.I feel that it would be the lesser of the two evils, ( sweat shops, abuse, rape, salvery)
Illegal alliens should not have our rights if they can not fight for freedom as our founding fathers. Yet as it stands now they march through our cities demanding those rights. Let them earn them. WHAT DO YOU THINK.

I think illegal aliens shold be granted citizenship and make it optional to be going to the war or not just like any other citizen. We are all peoples.

They come over the border, they are caught, given army training and sent to Iraq or Afghanistan. If they survive, they can then become American citizens.

No. i think this because when rome was around they hired foreigners to fight for them, and because they were’nt fighting for their own country they ran away, and this is what happened to cause the downfall of rome. and we may pull that off

Should we give this land back to the Indians? Weren’t we kind of uninvited? Hmmm… are we living a double standard?
So i guess it is OK to kill scores of people to take some land. And then say we ‘found’ it. Then whoever else wants to come in, we should call them aliens, and add to it the word “illegal” so as to justify our feelings.
Where did i hear the term ‘melting pot of nations’. I guess that phrase just fell out of the history books as some kind of distracting propaganda.

I believe that citizenship is already being offered to foreign nationals who join the military and serve our country. I think there are a couple of guys serving with my son in Iraq that want to become citizens and they joined the military to do so. From what I understand, they are proud to serve and doing a fine job in supporting the missions. I’m glad they are proving their loyalty to our country.

this answer is going to sound very different. there are currently about 106,000,000 {million} people in mexico, about 1 million would like to be americans. i say, let mexico become part of america over time, working together with the mexican consolate to give the mexican people the choices they should have. i say, integrate part of mexico to be part of america, and you will have many happy people in mexico with better healthcare, education, an respect for america. pretty wild idea i know, but i think this alliance would serve the u.s.a., and mexico.

Our founding fathers fought for independence from a different country. They didn’t fight for the rights to live in America. They sort of just came and stayed. Illegal immigrants are just like our “founding fathers”; they like the place, they want to stay. The Native Americans weren’t so happy when the Americans came neither. Those illegal immigrants shouldn’t be fighting in a war they might not support. If people want to join the war fighting terrorism, it should be something they do because they want to defend our country, not because they want something in return.

Aren’t we in enough trouble for accepting what we already have???? We were a melting pot when there wasn’t as many people as there is now… We can hardly take care of citizens now, just ask the homeless, disabled, or elderly….

YES! I have thought of this same thing not too long ago!! Our ancestors fought for this country…and the illegals want to come in without giving any blood like our ancestors gave their blood and their lives. The illegals think they “deserve” a chance over here. WELL LOOK AT MEXICO! It is corrupt as can be!! And those who live in Mexico are not willing to give lives to try and change something there! THEY need to go back to Mexico and have a civil war there and give some lives so their ppl can “deserve” rights!! They have no idea what our ancestors did to help build this great country…or i should say this country that once was great…we are on the verge of funneling down the toilet, but that is for another post at another time….has something to do with liberals…HAHA

We have used immigrant’s in nearly every conflict. If they fight as hard as they work, they would be some of our best troops. They are certainly being abused in a lot of cases and if they are willing to die for this country they should be accepted by it. I personally think it would help control the flow across the border, because if they pay the price for citizenship they would not like the ones that did not.

The iilegal allieans too r humans, who go to other countries to earn a living, some r unfortunate as circumstaces force them to become iilegal alliens. and since u think this so strongly, don’t u think u too should join in the fight against the terrorists rather than force someone to fight ur battles for u

I just wish they`d stop lying, pretending to love America sooo much, but every chance they get, they`re constantly giving their home country (“Mexico”), all the props, while taking all of our resources, Well if Mexico is soooo great! why aren`t they over there?They risk their life and the lives of their little ones to come here, why they even bother to leave if they love Mexico so much? Most don`t even bother to learn English any more, and now I wish I`d been pressured to learn Spanish instead of English, when I was in School, because jobs want, and HIRE Spanish speaking employees preferrably now, one does not need to know or speak any english to get a good job. blip! Oops! gunnerbestrong, but your answer is a bit too strong, after all we are speaking of Human beings here, who are not to be disrespected in any brute beast form or fashion.

I definitely do not agree with anyone being offered citizenship under any circumstances if they come to this country illegally. Not only do they do so in pronounced disregard of our laws but also jump ahead of their own countrymen and women who are filing the papers and paying the fees and waiting their turn to come to America legally. Undocumented shouldn’t be able to become citizens until they leave this country and file the forms like everyone else! Unless……
Our American servicemen and women are only tools of the ruling regime. Why do you think they are serving 2nd, 3rd and even 4th tours? The Government just patches them up and keeps sending them back until they either get killed or are crippled and useless to “the cause”, whatever that is. No one seems to know anymore.
It appears our beloved Great Leader has a severe need for more warm bodies to carry guns in Iraq, so why not make US Military Service a mandatory penalty for anyone caught in the United States illegally? If you are undocumented, are 16 years old or older and can walk and talk at the same time, forget the revolving door of jail and the plane trip back to Mexico. You’re going to Iraq!
It’s very simple for Congress and the House to change the rules to make this possible. And if our fire, hospital, police and courts can learn Spanish to deal with their ‘customers’, drill instructors can learn Spanish to deal with them, too.
And let’s not forget that most of these people walked many miles to get here. They are in better shape physically than most of us!
Like all military personnel, break them down in boot camp, feed them, pay them their meager wages and suit them up. Turn them into lean, mean fighting machines for Uncle Sam. They want to be here so badly, they can darned-well serve this country and earn their place at the table.
Only after they have served and survived and have an Honorable Discharge to prove it (nothing less should be accepted), we probably should grant them an expidited process in which they can gain legal citizenship. After all, if they wear government issue for four years, I suppose they’ve earned it. And they should by then be able to speak enough English to get by without irritating the rest of us.
If this becomes reality, what do you bet we see a large decline in the number of illegals crossing our borders?
Other than that, round ’em up and ship ’em out!

Well, you cannot consider every illegal alien is a terrorist and by the way Dr. there is only one l for the alien. 🙂 So, I would like to ask two questions! Reports show that there are many more people have died in the Iraq war twice as many as the time when Saddam was in the presidency? Who should be responsible for be in trial? Saddam or someone else? The second question is that, where was your parents come from? Were they part of red Indians race or were they come from Ireland many times ago?
Simply enough by history to say we are all aliens, so why do we need to say illegal aliens? Do you think did your grand fathers, grand mothers have come to this country legally also many years ago unless you are not in a family of red Indians?
If you could answer all these, you might consider, you cannot mixed up aliens vs terrorists. Also ask yourself, who creates terrorists = who make more anger among people which the result is more terrorists than few?

This has got to be the best solution to the problem of illegal aliens that I have heard yet!
The illegals do all the jobs that Americans don’t want now, so why not make them fight for thier freedom in this country like our forefathers did.
Make them fight and sacrifice thier lives for the self serving greed driven evil decisions of our president and government officials.
After all it is our government that is letting all this happen anyway. It is a shame that most people in this country are kept so preoccupied with their complicated daily lives and stuggles that they have no idea what our government is doing. Even if you have an idea or really can prove what they are up to, how do you stop them?
I guess that was how this country got started in the first place. The majority of the people felt they were being “screwed” by thier government, hence the revolution comes!
My how quickly a country forgets it’s own short 230 year history.
What a shame that we have all been so preoccupied to allow our government to get away with murder!
Another “REVOLUTION” will be inevitable for good to prevail!
