With the health care (lack of it). Illegals getting food stamps an help from the gov’t but a regular citizen can’t get much help because they made to much money last year while self employed. This is a great miscarriage of justice. Among other issues why be a US citizen? Freedom? huh, there are more freedoms in other places in the world than here. 16 year military veteran.

You can renounce your citizenship … Once you have another citizenship to replace it
Then you have to leave the US …

You’re absolutely right. Vote the bums out – vote against any incumbent!
To renounce US citizenship, first you must obtain citizenship elsewhere. Then you go to the US consulate with your proof of alternate citizenship, hand in your US passport, complete some forms and renounce US citizenship.
However, if the IRS thinks you are renouncing citizenship for tax reasons, you can be required to pay US income taxes for 10 years after renouncing citizenship. Also, there is an exit tax to depart the US permanently (whether you are a citizen or if you have resided in the US for a total of 8 years out of the past 15 years): 42% of all worldwide assets, including unrealized gains. So if you own property, or if granny left your daughter nice pearls in a vault in London, you have to pay 42% of the value. However, if you are required to pay the exit tax, you eliminate the 10-year income tax requirement. This paragraph alone – the grasp & greed of the US govt – seems just cause for rebelling or renouncing. This is not the Land of the Free; it has become Land of the Freebie for lawbreakers.

You can renounce your citizenship in US and move to Canada as they have free health care.

Amen to that I have friend that went from making 60.000 dollars last year to total unemployment 355.00 and cant get anything not even free housing what about all the high ass taxes she paid her 20 plus years of working thats what its there for help when you need it shouldn’t those be the ones in titled to it the ones that have worked hard paid taxes and now need the help well if your a vet they usally give them to vets even if they work thats strange .

I would advise that you keep it just in case. You can move to some other country and get that contries citizenship while you keep your American one. Maybe things will change in 20 years and you can avoid the hassle of having to get your citizenship back. Anyway, good luck!

You may have ‘served’ in our military, but you are very ignorant. Illegals cannot collect welfare, however, if they have a child born in the US and they meet the poverty guidelines, then the welfare is for the child, not the illegal parents.
