Would illegal immigrants stay a “cheaper, faster, and stronger work force…” if given amnesty?

Someone said they were ‘pro-illegals’ because they are a “cheaper, faster, and stronger work force”. But if you check back in history when slaves were not considered citizens they worked their butts off because it was survival(you don’t work, they kill you). They were given freedom and citizenship and now you can’t get half of them to keep a job.

History repeats itself… Wouldn’t the same thing happen to the illegal immigrants?

I dont want to sound racist but most of latinos if they dont get a good job they get two or 3 to support themselves, blacks complain and get a gun robb and kill, Im not saying all of them and not all of latinos work that hard. if they get the amnesty it wont be the same, the tension toward latinos exist but the violent problem is between latinos and blacks, so in the future if given amnesty you can expect a stronger work force. it would not be the same as blacks getting unemployment checks if is that your concern, and think now who kills who? whatever happens in the past stay in the past we were slaves too, but i will try to improve my life instead of hating and killing other people…I believe they will do better

  • Actually slaves weren’t as hard working as one might think. That’s why people from the north moved away from it. There is a lack of motivation to do the extra mile. Up north they underpay you so you have to work more than one job to survive. It might be strange, but people work better with certai amount of freedom. If you live a hopeless life, death isn’t much of a threat for some.

As for giving Amnesty , they would stop working that hard. There fear of their employers deporting you would be gone, and they would demand reasonable work conditions. COnstruction crew would be force to buy workers comp insurance and ensure that their worker don’t saw off her hand.

Edit: Citizen, you ned to get out more often if you think African Americans are more prone to crime than Hispanics. THis is not what we see currently in LA. I’m not saying Hispanics are more likely to commit crimes, but African Americans don’t make up a disporportionate number of criminals found in LAPD most wanted. PS, I know of a few African Americans that have more than one job.

  • In a sense yes. Many illegals who work in your local McDonalds and Taco bell still get paid minimum wage or a wage deemed to be legal by the state, so I doubt that this will change too much.

  • Did you really just ask that question?? I knew people like you were still out there but I thought you stayed under the rocks.
For all those who scream racism over the immigration issue, here is your prime example. “you can’t get half of them to keep a job” was what you stated. Is that a true statistic or something you heard from somebody under a neighboring rock?
But hey if “they” aren’t taking up the jobs other than dealing drugs to one another then “they” really are of no concern to “us” are they?
Have you never met a worthless lazy white person on the welfare system? If your comments are based on ethnicity let me really bring it to your level of statistical measurements.
Go watch Jerry Springer and see how many are white versus other “colors”. There is your sample size for your worthless welfare loving lazy mootches. And once you’ve completed your study, let people know honestly what you found.

No, they, and their children would get a tax payer funded education and then compete for the jobs other Americans WILL do.
So what?, competition makes us all better, i am not pro immigration, I am anti-borders

The price of a slave in the 1800’s is like what a midsize family car would cost today… nobody wanted to kill their slaves…

In spite of the rants by those who support illegal aliens, I am not entirely convinced that illegals want to become citizens or even care one bit about amnesty. It seems that they (illegals) have a safety net of not being known and rely on this anonymity to retreat to their home country when the heat is on. I don’t see employers wanting amnesty either, it would only cost them money in higher wages for the “new Americans”. I would have to say that the majority of illegals are not here for anything but themselves. I have major concerns about lowering the bar for people who couldn’t care less about America in the first place. Lastly, I do not think that the illegal workforce is any faster or stronger than a legal workforce in America, but there is no denying that they work for less.

  • I DONT THINK SO I ACTUALLY THINK IT WILL BE GOOD BECAUSE THEY WILL WORK TWICE AS HARD TO BE COMING IN AND OUT OF THE COUNTRY SO THATS GOOD FOR OUR ECONOMY AMNESTY IS GOOD BETTER THAN TRYING TO GET THEM ALL OUT !!!
I GO FOR THE DREAM ACT BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY LET THE SMART PEOPLE STAY HERE WELL THE PEOPLE THAT WANT TO GET AN EDUCATION AND THE PEOPLE WHO DONT WELL THEY GET TO GO BACK

GO FOR THE SMART ILLEGALS =)

  • What people forget is, we already tried the amnesty route. Those that became citizens moved up into “real” jobs. Then, more and more illegals started to come in, encouraged by the knowledge that if they can just get here, they too will get amnesty.

And here we are debating amnesty again. I guess history is repeating itself (unless we can stop it).

  • If all of the illegal immigrants in the United States were given amnesty, there is no way they would remain a cheaper workforce. They would be subject to federal minimum wage laws and as such they would have to recieve standard minimum wage (to start). It would be against the law to underpay them.

In terms of being able to keep a job, most probably won’t work if they recieve amnesty because then they would be allowed to recieve government handouts on their behalf (not on someone’s stolen information or their children’s information).

  • First of all, this is not a case of history repeating itself. I suggest you go read some history of the slave trade. Slaves were brought here against their will, and they were not given amnesty, they were freed. Illegal aliens are lawbreakers. They have no right to be here in the first place. The only thing that would be history repeating itself lies within amnesty. 1986? Now we have a bigger problem.

You cannot compare slaves to illegal aliens. I’m not going to address the working issue because I find the comparison distasteful, and, I’m going to use this word for the first time——–racist——- towards the blacks.

  • No, they would not. They would be legal and would be demanding better jobs and pay.

  • They would be the first one hitting the streets wanting living wages just like the rest of us do. The pockets aren’t endless and once they became citizens and were forced to obey the laws and really pay their share and not get the freebies….they would soon discover it’s impossible to survive here on what they want to pay. I’m sure they’d start with “racism” as if the rest of us aren’t working for squat as well……but heck no…..they couldn’t keep going status quo any better than we can. 1 family per house, all income taxed….fines paid and bills paid and no easy out or new identity etc……..heck….they aren’t even citizens and are demanding free college. If just wanting to work was enough….they’d all be picking tomatoes with a smile on their faces and not be demanding more. They’re already trying to establish job security by keeping citizens out of jobs for not speaking Spanish….I know without a shadow of a doubt it wouldn’t be enough.
