‘Atheist’ Nations Are More Peaceful

Science & Reason on Facebook: tinyurl.com “Peace Is Non-Theistic” by www.youtube.com “Vision of Humanity groups together a number of interrelated initiatives focused on global peace. It brings a strategic approach to raising the worlds attention and awareness around the importance of peacefulness to humanitys survival in the 21st century.” • www.visionofhumanity.org — Subscribe to Science & Reason • www.YouTube.com • www.YouTube.com • www.YouTube.com • www.YouTube.com — I hear time and time again the incredible statements being made by the religiously minded whom make comparisons between themselves, other religious groups and also even to the non-religious. I hear often Muslims claiming their religion to be one of peace, of knowledge of wisdom and of respect (laughs), and much of the same spewed from the pipes of the Christian, Jewish and Hindu drones. Though, its interesting to note that I have yet to see any statistical data nor any evidence to support such claims; mainly due to the fact that there is none. With this video, I seek to present factual statistical data that expresses that such claims are not only false, but like most religious speech, are blatant falsities that exist as a propaganda force. Religion now like always maintains a clear and distinct correlation with conflict, not peace! The Vision of Humanity Global Peace Index survey accounts for internal and external conflicts and the subsequent losses incurred, Including that of potential terrorist acts

  • Italy isn’t present in this country list (more peaceful/Atheist, nor less peaceful/highest religious) cause its an average country, more democratic than these other ones

  • @revron77 Right now, not before.

  • @revron77 Research how the global peace index is measured, it takes account, external and internal wars, crime levels, political instability, relations to other countries, jailed population, etc.
You can see these indicators ranked by country in GPI’s site, as well as, the total sum, what is shown here.

@MetalBru01 I agree as well. Although if a nation has the freedom of whatever religion they want and the majority of people are atheists, they seem to be more peaceful.

  • @EvilSiper I agree, I’m agnostic and I think this is just completely baist. I mean soviet russia was an atheist nation and look how peaceful that was! (sarcasm) I think both sides religious and athiest can be just as bad as each other when it comes arrogance.

  • @ikcjjtt u r probably not fighting each other.

  • @BlackSpiderPro there are other factors that lead to peace, and like one guy said earlier, if u look at all these other factors, religion becomes irrelavent. If u refuse to get in a war reguardless of the reason, have no poor or rich people, have other white minorities or none at all, u tend to be pretty peaceful. And there is no racism cause there is no black people. so they find other ways to be “racist”, generally through religious affliliation. One thing to point out-if everyone is the same,

  • This video is misleading, there are many factors that lead to peace… especially economic… Heck many many factors involved, religion is almost irrelevant in most cases. japan for example has a really tight crime system…

Anyway I dont disprove or approve religion-

  • @itsnobody Dude, you’re a f**king idiot, go troll somewhere else, or actually you shouldn’t troll, go get a life or something! I fact, Denmark and Sweden (80 – 85% athiest,) is among the most peaceful countries in europe, while high religiuos countries like, Irag, Sudan etc., experience alot of violence. There’s no racisism in Denmark at all, if there is it’s a very little, I’ve never met a racist myself. :I

  • Any religion that promotes breeding out of control is nothing more than an instigator for the end of the world.
What we need is a good old fashioned plague !

  • How is France and Germany high at peace??

Thats BS they have killed countless people in war.

  • I don’t think you have looked at the statistics my friend!!! they crearly shows that atheist is by far the most tolerent and the less racist people…. so that was one werry stupid saying

  • @GodOfUnbelief Very true. But they only worship him because they have no other choice. They are not free to emigrate. It’s really sad. Even worse, the United States military is absent. We only liberate people who can offer us something of value in return. Sadly, we pretend it is for noble causes.

  • Look at the video answers 🙂
Well, fanaticaly religious video-responder, if you can PROVE god in 1 video …. why on EARTH would you waste time on presenting 2 logical arguments for god in another? You really don’t have to argue, if you can prove.
Based purely on the names of your videoresponses, MY logical argument is, ofc, your ‘proof’ for god is non-existant. Try harder next time

  • I hope you realize that these numbers mean nothing. Correlation does not imply causation.

  • @JuliusIsMe Nope. Neither will any religious person.

  • @GodOfUnbelief Kim jong irr ront be rearry happy rean i show him thris.

  • @JuliusIsMe Allow me to counter that. In NK, you have the cult of kim il sung as a religion, which serves the same purposes. Many north koreans think Kim il Sung is God, thus it can be described as a religion in itself. Also, the ‘atheism’ in North Korea is enforced by tyrranny not by reason. NK isn’t officially called atheist because its people are, but because its government puts that label on itself. Atheism is only truely present by those who have come to this conclusion, not enforced to it

  • Atheist countries are more peaceful. Just look at North Korea.

  • @trifulquita15 No it isn’t. People are religious there, however they’re forced into specific religions whether they like it or not. So they have no religious freedom.

  • Interesting reference point. This standard of “peaceful” is assumed to correlate directly to satisfaction and fulfillment in life, which is not guaranteed. I have known many people who have experienced extensive conflict in their lives, and were stronger and wiser after having been through those experiences.

I’ve also met “peaceful” people who were too scared to stand up against injustice. So your conclusion is incomplete. Is “peaceful” when there are none fighting, or nothing to fight for?

  • @KevinLockard23 Not at all.

Theists can be agnostic as well. It is possible to believe something, without knowing that it is true after all (I.e. A theist that believes that a god exists, but does not know for certain whether that belief is true). I would go so far as to say that most moderate Christians fall into this category.

  • @DecemberRegn ..for in papers sometimes. It’s hard to fight racism but we try! Believe me! I still can’t believe you saying atheists as a whole are racist though, I beleive that there are far more people being intolerant towards atheists than the other way around. Sure, I dislike most religion since it causes so much hate and pain in the world, but I do not necessarily hate religious people. Can you understand that?
Why so much hate everywhere? *sigh*

  • @itsnobody It’s not an argument for the US being racist, what I meant was that you probably have it worse in some areas, your country is big! But I understand what you mean, believe it or not. Then again the US is builty on many different people with different backgrounds, different ethnicities etc. Sweden is not, even though our country too has a lot of people originating from other countries.
In my life I have almost come across no racists at all, and I have enver heard anyone complain except

  • North Korea is an atheist country LOL. I think lil Kim Jong IL is going to test some nuclear weapon again

  • @godofunbelief,

So let me get this straight: NK isn’t truly an atheistic nation because it’s tyrannical, and tyranny is by defintion antithetical to atheism? Is that right? Sounds like sophistry to me. Gee, can I apply that logic to nations that practice Christianity ? Since Jesus commanded his followers to love their neighbors, anyone who doesn’t really practice that is not actually a Christian. Does that work for you?

Atheists are some of the most arrogant and condescending people I have ever met. Anyone who believes in God is either crazy or stupid as far as they are concerned. Is the hostility toward religion of atheistic regimes such as China and North Korea such a big leap from the hostility of some of these posts? After all, those governments are just saving people from being deluded, aren’t they? Take a look at BlackSpiderPro’s response. It’s dripping with contempt. And its rationality is suspect, because it ignores the brutality and paternalism of atheistic regimes, and makes no mention of the possibility that the peacefulness of the Scandinavian countries might be fueled by centuries of Christian practice. As well as other factors.
