Question by Ashlee C: wats are the pros and cons of having the constitutional right of freedom of religion?
Okay, for my debate class my teacher is having us debate the resolution:” that the constitutional right of freedom of religion has wrongly evolved into the freedom from religion”. And I’m having trouble understanding what the statement means by that and I’m having trouble finding pros and con for the statement.

What this topic means since i am debating it is that… All people of the US have a right to practice their own religion which is freedom of religion become wrongly evolved into freedom from religion meaning more and more people are becoming atheist and going away from religion all because of the choice to practice your own religion

  • The statement says that you don’t understand “freedom”.

Freedom works both ways, it offers choice.

Choice involves everything from one side of the scale to the other.

But, understand, there isn’t a right to or from religion in the U.S. constitution.

The constitution simply says that the government cannot be prejudiced towards or against religion.

All religious words, can not exist in the governmental vocabulary.

A “Bible” school applying for financial assistance can qualify only as much as any school, “Bible” cannot exist in answering the request.

As far as their tax deductible status, it’s not the church part that gets to be a non-profit organization, it’s the part that helps people in certain ways that gets tax preference. There are many non-profit organizations that get tax preference the same way churches seem to.

I’m not naive enough to believe that is what is actually happening, but I do know that the constitution demands it to be that way.

Read the constitution, and you’ll see, it’s a very simple document, that people have been programmed to believe is much different than it is.

My favorite is the second amendment. People think the second amendment protects your right to own hunting guns… WRONG!!! The second amendment protects your right to own people killing guns, NOT animal killing guns..

The law is there to enable us to fight our government… these are people that will be wearing armor should we fight against them… The second amendment preserves our right to own guns that will stop them, which means armor piercing bullets too.

    Read it… It’s fascinating
