  • You are trying to balance 2 things that rest squarely on the SAME side of the scale. How you intend to do this is beyond me, but I would rephrase your question if I were you. You make it sound as thought both issues draw from the same barrel of finite resources. and we somehow have to choose which one gets more attention. This is a faulty representation of the importance of both issues. If either issue is not attended to adequately it won’t matter because both will be lost. You cannot have one without the other. To take money from national security to give it to civil rights efforts, would be like trying to save a family from starving to death by taking food away from the 10 year old male child, and giving it to the 8 year old female child. No matter how many times you switch seats on the Titanic….you are still going down.

    civil rights belong to those citizens of the country….legal citizens……
    national security is compromised when undocumented people enter into a country and claim they have rights to be here…..they do not. they are tresspassors and in other countries would be shot or put into prison for their offense…it would not be tolerated
