What would it take for Republicans/Conservatives to agree that Obama is good on National Security?

Question by Griggnax: What would it take for Republicans/Conservatives to agree that Obama is good on National Security?
I’ve seen so many posts here that slam Obama as being weak on National Security, as being a pacifist, etc., that I’m wondering, what does he have to do to make you think otherwise?

Finally capturing or killing Bin Laden?
Stopping a high-profile attack on the homeland?
Something else?

And if something like that were to happen, would you give Obama the credit, or Bush?

let’s see:
– not attacking gun rights
– not releasing terrorists
– sealing the border
– maintaining order in iraq
– keeping iran from getting nukes
– responding with vigor to hamas, etc
– keeping bush’s 7 year streak of no attacks at home alive
– not weakening out military by allowing gays to serve openly

BTW, Bin Laden is a figure head and nothing more. I’d like to capture him, try him and kill him…. but that won’t stop the march of radical islam will continue to kill free people. only ignorant liberals believe this to be true. so, security-wise capturing bin laden means nothing.

Back Israel militarily. Do anything possible to shore up and improve our military including re-instating the draft. Close the border to Mexico. Tell the muslim terrorists what to do with themselves.
Let me ask you this, who do you blame for 9/11, Bush, who just started in office or Clinton who left us wide open for attack when he did not defend the Cole.

Um, well, for one thing, not doing dumb sh*t such as invading Pakistan when he’s been in office less than a week.

  • Ditto Freedom Guy and add:

Get rid of Billary Clinton. Get them OUT of Washington D.C.

Get Ollie North to run the CIA.

  • It doesn’t really matter.

The real problem now is in Pakistan where the Taliban is gaining political strength.

The solution will lie with cooperating with the Pakistani government and working with their military.

It will be largely diplomatic and covert with little video coverage. It will take a long time, and be about as exciting as watching the faucet drip (unless you are there).

There will be a lot of changes in tactics (flip-flops) as the situation evolves and the Republicans will find fault all along the way…claiming that it would be better to “make the place a glass parking lot”.
