Slave Religion in North America

By the year 1810 the slave trade to the United States came to an end and the population of the slaves begun to increase naturally. This made way to the transmission and the preservation of the religious practices that were African American. The slaves in the slave quarters organized their own invisible institution through signal, passwords and messages that were not understood by the white.

It proved very hard for the slave to preserve their religion in North America. Most of the slaves lived under harsh conditions and they were high death rates, which reduced their numbers. The salves were separated from their families and the tribal groups and this made it hard for them to practice. For those who tried to practice the concrete efforts of the white owners to eradicate the non-Christian customs that saw as heathens made the preservation of the religious tradition difficult. Traditional beliefs, rhythms, isolated songs and beliefs in the in the curative power of roots and the efficacy of the world spirit and the ancestors did not survive well in the nineteenth century.

They called the believers to hush harbor were they mixed freely and practiced their traditional religion. However, they did this in secret because the whites could not agree because they thought that giving the slaves the freedom to perform their religious ceremonies would give them a chance to plot a rebellion against their owners and they feared that. This made the white in America dictate the religion that then slaves were going to follow. They were determined to eradicate the non-Christian customs that the Africans professed.

Maintaining the slaves was important to the whites and if giving the slaves the freedom to practice their religious ceremonies was a threat then they were going to be denied that freedom. The civil war is the central event in the American history consciousness. The historical and the literary elements that were related to the civil war and to reconstruction were many but the main issue was slavery and the slave trade. The co existence of the slave owning south with the increasingly anti slavery north made a conflict likely.

The State Of America, 2009

In spite of all that has transpired in this country, it is still great. Great, in that we have come to the aid of about every other country across the globe. Now, in this day, China comes to our aid with financial backing. But, at what price? Sure, they are helping us with thier money. But isn’t that like going to a loan shark? If you’re unable to pay the loan, you get your leg or arm broken. Or maybe two legs and two arms? Or, perhaps they’ll just take some land in payment? Sure, why not! We have plenty of land, don’t we? Do we really want to sell or give up our land to foreign interests? But, then again, we’ve already sold some of America to other foreigners, over the past years, haven’t we?

The media keeps reporting that we are in a “recession”. A recession is defined as, “1. a going back or backward;receding;withdrawal. 4. in economics, a temporary falling off of business activity during a period, when such activity has been generally increasing, as during that after a depression.”   Also;  ” a ceding or giving back, as to a fomer owner.”  Now, either that means we have had a DEPRESSION, or, we are giving back the country to a former owner! Who was the former owner? Spain once owned a good part of the southwest , at one time. France owned another part of it. And England owned, or at least tried to own a part of this country.

To the world bankers and industrialists, America is just another piece of property to be sold. They don’t care that thousands of people may be out of work. They will simply replace us with cheap, foreign labor! This may be an unpopular statement to make, especially to all the politicians who have had foreign servants working in their big, expensive mansions in Washington, D.C. and Maryland for many years. I know, I’ve seen some of them. And I’ve heard the things that go on within those “ivory towers”!

All that aside, we still have a great country; but we need to clean house, before we lose all that this country has stood for in the past. There are forces at work that want to bring this nation down to the third world level. Down to the poverty, down to the despair, the hopelessness and depavity that exists in many counties, even now. We should not , cannot let that happen. How do we stop it? Phone calls to your senator, or congressman MIGHT have some results, but it may not. Money certainly won’t. It will just go to some politicians pocket. One thing might just get some results;  PRAYER!  Yes, I said prayer!  Forget seperation of church and state!  Don’t seperate yourself from our creator! He is the only one that can change things, for the better. That’s not religion, it’s the plain, simple and straight TRUTH. Try praying to the one who established this country, so that we could ALL be free; free to worship the one true God. Okay, call it “religious garbage”, if you want  But those who believe will know what I’m saying is true.

The state of this country is not good right now. Everyone knows it. It won’t get any better, like I said at first. But, if the entire nation fails to come together and get on their knees, and ask forgiveness for all their wrongdoings, many will go into captivity, within our own borders. Many will be slain, tortured, tormented. This sounds crazy, insane and every other thing you can come up with, but, nontheless, true. Many will live to see it with their own eyes and wish that they didn’t. I know what I sound like; please keep this in mind for the future days, it WILL happen unless this nation REPENTS.  Lord Jesus bless all who believe, and take it to heart!

Started out writing poetry, mostly. I have a book on poetry, being published, even now. I would like to write some articles, short stories maybe. I love motorcycling, kayaking, camping, music, etc.

Do you feel the Constitution of the United States of America is being adhered to today?
