New Book Asks: Do Christians Really Believe in Jesus or Just in The Ten Commandments?

Front Cover

Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) October 4, 2007

According to mainstream Christian teachings mankind does not have to observe The Ten Commandments because Jesus has already fulfilled them. Author Truoc Duong challenges this assumption in his new book titled The Ten Commandments Are for God’s Beloved Children!.

“Does being Christian really mean that once a person believes in Jesus he or she is free to worship other gods, to bow down to idols or to use God’s name in vain or to commit other biblical sins?” Duong asks. “Do Christians really think this, or like to do those things? And, if not, does that mean they are really believers in just The Ten Commandments?”

The author says that all these contradictions and confusions prompted him to write ‘The Ten Commandments Are for God’s Beloved Children!,’ which does not promote organized religion. To the contrary, it points out that The Ten Commandments are violated and misrepresented by many religions. It also points out that The Ten Commandments are not a burden to mankind as most religions make them out to be. Rather, they are the key that releases mankind from the land of religious slavery, to give mankind a total freedom that God has intended since the days of Creation. God never told Adam and Eve to worship God or anybody or anything, and that God never promises an everlasting life in heaven for a good person or an everlasting damnation in hell for a bad one, Duong states.

To back these assertions, he presents the full text of the Ten Commandments of God in his book as they are recorded in the Bible books of Exodus and Deuteronomy — and each commandment is also discussed in great detail. The book also provides a rich, detailed history of the Ten Commandments. It does not promote organized religion, he adds. To the contrary, it points out how the Ten Commandments are misrepresented or violated by many religious institutions.

“The Ten Commandments are not just for religious people, but for everybody because keeping God’s Commandments is a duty of every human being,” Duong says.

At the end of the book he concludes The Ten Commandments are the greatest lessons of love that God has given to mankind to teach them how to live with true and honest love with God and with each other, with all human brothers and sisters, and with all creatures big and small. If all mankind lived by The Ten Commandments, there would be no war. Mankind would no longer hate or fear each other, and animals would no longer fear humans, and all creatures would enjoy full freedom, happiness and peace. The earth would become the heavenly paradise God intended it to be.

India?s Persecution of Christians Employs Movie Producers to Launch Anti-Christian Short Films

(PRWEB) October 30, 2005

The “Doing Hard Time for God!” crusade launched by Archbishop Gary Beaver of the Old Catholic Church of Great Britain has raised concern over the recent anti-Christian films produced by India’s mainstream film producers for viewing at local cinemas.

Archbishop Gary Beaver explained that India’s Hindu based caste system is some 3000 years old and even though it is banned by India’s Constitution, it is still very much a part of modern day life. If one is born to a family or a village of a low caste, your life is damned to holding nothing better than menial jobs and almost a slave type existence under the ancient social system.

The Indian Freedom of Religion Act states that anyone wishing to convert religion must first obtain permission from district officials. Clergy and religious leaders of Christian Churches must also receive official permission before the person converts. Should anyone convert without the legal permission, then the convert and the priest may face 4 years in prison and more than $ 2000 fine.

India’s lower-caste groups, the Dalit who number around 300 million, have been the focus of anti-conversion attacks as Christianity has brought them towards freedom and dignity.

A number of Indian states have passed, and more are joining the rush to pass anti-conversion laws outlawing the right to choose your own religion.

Movie producers have even gone so far as to release a “short film” disguised as a public service film into movie theatres in order to “educate” audiences about the Gujarat’s Freedom of Religion Act. The Act in question prohibits religious conversion [ by the use of force or allurement or by fraudulent means].

The offending public service film shows a cow grazing in a plush pasture, with a narration saying “You cannot make this cow a non-vegetarian, so why attempt to change someone’s religion?”

Archbishop Gary Beaver criticised the film as being deceptive and unlawful.

The carrying of the Good News to the Dalit’s has taught them Jesus’ words and allow them to embrace salvation in Christ , overcoming the belief that they are worthless but rather, precious children loved dearly by their Creator.

DVD on U. S. Constitution Exposes the 3 Signs of Historical Revisionism Among Christians

“Ismellarat — An Anti-Federalist Interpretation of American History”

is unique as an evangelical video production that challenges the U.S.

Constitution as a Christian document thesis held by many evangelical Christians. Produced by a team of Evangelicals, it seeks to prove that historical revisionism could be a more serious problem among Christian authors than among secularists.

Baptized Federalism

Readers of most contemporary authors on American Christian history are in for a shock. The video challenges almost everything they’ve been taught about the meaning of American history. The documentary takes issue with the “baptized Federalism” which is common to many of today’s “Christian America” authors. It asserts that too often strong Christians have allowed their patriotism to cloud their biblical discernment on this vital issue.

Approximately 31 minutes in run time, this DVD challenges the prevailing opinion among Christians that the United States Constitution represents the epitome of biblical civil government. It explores why Patrick Henry and other strong Christians of the founding era opposed ratification of the Constitution so vigorously.

The legendary Patrick Henry argued almost single-handedly against ratification for 23 days in the Virginia Ratifying Convention. Patrick Henry had better oratory, but Madison had better organization Many of his prophetic warnings have transpired: an imperial Supreme Court, two levels of oppressive taxation, a bloody civil war. Plus an expansionist interpretation of the General Welfare Clause and the so-called Elastic Clause.

The film reports why Patrick Henry rejected James Madison’s invitation to the Constitutional Convention itself with the pithy retort, “I smelt a rat.” It answers the question, What was the rat that Patrick Henry “smelt”? Includes interviews with radio personality Larry Pratt, Christian historian Dr. George Grant, and others.

Christian Revisionism

Historical revisionism could be a bigger problem among Evangelical Christians than among secular humanists. Here is evidence the film supplies for this assertion. Some of the telltale marks of Christian revisionism include….

      1) Relying heavily on secondary evidence such as after-the-fact religious quotes and self-congratulatory statements by the founders and their Federalist cheerleaders.

      2) Downplaying primary source documents, such as the “Federalist Papers” and “Notes From the Federal Convention,” which almost never refer to the Bible in their discussions of civil government. Then concluding that “the founders used the Bible as their great political textbook.”

      3) Ignoring the strong Evangelical and anti-Federalist resistance to the Constitution, which existed at the time of ratification. Then “baptizing” the Constitution as the undisputed epitome of biblical civil government.

Thus, the video suggests that many contemporary “Christian America authors are in reality promoting a form of Christian historical revisionism.

For Christians in Iraq, the threats persist
Before the U.S.-led invasion in 2003 there were about 1.4 million Christians in Iraq, a Muslim-dominated nation of nearly 30 million. Since then, about 50% of Iraq’s Christians have fled the country, taking refuge in neighboring Jordan, Syria, Europe and the USA, according to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
