ClearDATA Co-Founder and Chief Privacy Officer Chris Bowen to Speak at 21st Annual WEDI National Conference

Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) April 30, 2012

ClearDATA Networks, Inc., the leading healthcare cloud computing platform and service provider, today announced that its co-founder and Chief Privacy Officer Chris Bowen will be a featured speaker on the topic of “PHI and Cloud Computing” at the 21st Annual WEDI National Conference being held May 1-3, 2012 in Tampa, Florida. Healthcare leaders from across the nation attend the WEDI (Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange) Conference to learn about and address issues of primary concern to the healthcare industry.

“Securing data and patient information is a top priority in our industry and many are concerned of potential security risks associated with moving PHI to the cloud,” said Chris Bowen, Chief Privacy Officer for ClearDATA Networks, Inc. “While safeguarding PHI in the cloud does introduce new security issues, it can also reduce or eliminate many security threats. Done properly, PHI in the cloud can effectively be more secure, and definitely more cost effective, than storing PHI onsite for a healthcare provider.”

WEDI Conference Session Title: PHI and Cloud Computing

Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 3:25 PM – 4:55 PM

Grand Hyatt Hotel Tampa Bay, White Ibis Room

Abstract: Cloud Computing has become a popular choice to move/store data while leveraging speed and cost effectiveness. However, covered entities, business associates and all others responsible to keep sensitive date (including PHI) protected and secure have a lot to consider when moving into the cloud environment. Vendors are offering cloud technology; the federal government is mandating its business to move towards the cloud and NIST has been releasing Special Publications regarding cloud computing and security.

The Alex Jones Show: Bilderberg Conference of Global Power Brokers set to Meet 1/2

Paul Joseph Watson www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv June 6, 2011 Image: Wikipedia Commons A prominent member of Switzerland’s largest political party has called upon federal authorities to arrest Henry Kissinger as a war criminal if he attends the 2011 Bilderberg conference of global power brokers which is set to begin on Thursday at the Hotel Suvretta House in St. Moritz. Swiss People’s Party representative Dominique Baettig wrote a letter to the General Prosecutor of the Swiss Federation in which he asked, “In the name of Cantonal Sovereignty and independence, but especially of the Justice’s independence from executive power — may it be Federal or Cantonal — I ask you to check abroad for Arrest Warrants delivered by various Courts, Judges and also for all valid criminal complaints against the persons who were, amongst others, cited as mere examples in my (enclosed) letters to Mrs. Simonetta Sommaruga, Federal Counselor and Mrs. Barbara Janom Steiner, Cantonal Counselor and of course, to arrest them before diligent extraditions.” Baettig is no fringe figure, he’s the equivalent of a US Congressman, representing the Canton of Jura on the National Council of Switzerland. His party, the Swiss People’s Party, is the largest party in the Federal Assembly, with 58 members of the National Council and 6 of the Council of States. Baettig’s letter also calls for the apprehension of George W. Bush and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but neither are likely to be attending

MEDIA ADVISORY: Secure Elements’ Discusses IT Security’s Evolution to Enterprise Vulnerability Management at GFIRST National Conference

(PRWEB) April 1, 2005

HERNDON, VA (PRWEB) April 1, 2005 – Secure Elements, Inc. invites conference attendees and media to a presentation by the Secure Elements chief technology officer at the GFIRST National Conference in Orlando, Fla., on April 7th, 2005.

Dan Bezilla will explore how enterprise vulnerability management supports the mission of the federal cyber security incident response functions.

WHO:

Daniel Bezilla, Chief Technology Officer, Secure Elements, http://www.secure-elements.com

WHEN:

Thursday, April 7, 2005, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., EST

WHERE:

2005 GFIRST National Conference, Rosen Centre Hotel, 9840 International Drive, Orlando, Fla.

WHAT:

Enterprise Vulnerability Management: Beyond Patch Management.

Patch management has never been a completely effective – or efficient – solution for IT security personnel. Each time a new patch is announced, managers must race to install and test the patch, usually in a race against hackers hoping to exploit the vulnerability. In addition, patch deployment usually disrupts network and application activity for hours and sometimes days.

Daniel B. Bezilla, co-founder and CTO of Secure Elements, is an information warfare expert and his past experience includes testing sensitive federal government computer systems. In this engaging address, he will discuss alternatives to traditional patch management and how CLASS 5 Enterprise Vulnerability Management software improves overall network security and eases the burden of manually updating patches through integration and automation.

HOW:

Members of the media may contact Elizabeth Maybach at 703-287-7821 or emaybach@sheahedges.com to obtain more information or schedule interviews with expert sources from Secure Elements.

Security Professionals can find solution in Information Security Conference

The Bureau has its hands full and is asking the public for help. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has just revealed some interesting statistics on a burgeoning headache — white-collar Internet crime. Since the IC3 began recording cyber-theft 10 years ago, the agency arm says that it’s received two million complaints on white-collar Internet crime.

The most common complaints filed by the agency Impersonators were impersonators acting as FBI agents, non-payment of items ordered on the Internet, and identity theft. The rest of the “Top Ten” included computer crimes, miscellaneous fraud, advance fee fraud, spam, auction fraud, credit card fraud and overpayment fraud. The report also listed some of the “newer” forms of Internet crimes:

The report also announced some of the “newer” forms of Internet crimes:

■Telephone calls claiming victims are delinquent on payday loans.

■Online apartment, house rental and real estate scams used to swindle consumers out of thousands of dollars.

■Denial-of-service attacks on cell phones and landlines used as a ruse to access victims’ bank accounts.

■Fake e-mails seeking donations to disaster relief efforts after last year’s earthquake in Haiti

Information security professionals can thwart web-based white-collar crime through awareness and preparation. EC-Council, a leading certification body organizesinformation security conference called TakeDown Conference, a highly technical security training conference with a platform that will allow participants to go through both hands on and real life scenario based training covering domains such as web application security, penetration testing and social engineering.

Ethical Hacking training is vital in helping curb Internet crime. EC-Council has trained over 80,000 individuals and certified more than 30,000 security professionals. These certifications are recognized worldwide and have received endorsements from various government agencies including the US federal government, National Security Agency (NSA), Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), US Army, FBI, Microsoft and CERTs (Computer Emergency Response Team) of various nations. The UUS Department of Defense has included the CEH program into its Directive 8570, making it one of the mandatory standards to be achieved by Computer Network Defenders Service Providers (CND-SP).

Individuals who have achieved EC-Council certifications include those from some of the finest organizations around the world such as the US Army, the FBI, Microsoft, IBM and the United Nations. EC-Council has also been featured in internationally acclaimed publications and media including Fox Business News, CNN, The Herald Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, The Gazette and The Economic Times as well as in online publications such as the ABC News, USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor, Boston and Gulf News.
