The modern reality shows that there are often representatives of various cultures, ethnicities, traditions and religions study in one college, so there is much ground for religious disputes and even conflicts. To prevent this from happening, the college administration ensures a set of venues for familiarizing students with various religions, religious tolerance etc.
Religious Activities Practiced in Colleges.
1. The first issue of concern for college administration is to provide opportunities for representatives of all religions to explore their faith, to express it and to learn more about it through meetings with co-thinkers, outstanding religious people etc. These measures help ensure equality of opportunities for all students wishing to engage actively in religion.
2. Secondly, it is important to ensure the exchange of religious experience among different students. This is essential to ensure continuous learning, in religious terms as well. Religion creates a sound basis for ethics and morale, correct conduct and relationships with other people. Hence, learning basic religious principles may make the social atmosphere in the college much healthier.
3. Thirdly, religious education is highly important in cultural terms. There is a pattern of transient behaviour apparent in Pentecostal churches in this country, the which has to be called into question surely. Supposed Pastors migrating between churches from time to time, town to town, city to city, State to State. Men who supposedly state “God has called them to a certain town,” city, etc., men who Pastor churches, then for whatever reasons, pull up their roots and move on to somewhere else.
Men who go about manipulating the love and trust of the sheep, (2 Pet. 2/3), who glean loyalty and devotion from folk, men who harvest the unqualified support AND TRUST of the people, men who oversee the birth of new souls into the Kingdom,……..then make a decision to abdicate, walk away, migrate,………. flee,…….. to somewhere else.
It is incredulous to me how a man who has fathered children, nurtured, fed, tendered, clothed, and looked after for 1, 2, 3, or maybe even 7 years, can,… at a given whim, pull up roots, move on, abandon, forsake,…desert,… the ones he has given birth to. How much more incredulous is it to witness the same desertion of successive flocks by men who present themselves as being “shepherds” of the flock?????? Gal. 4/19.
I have seen this first hand,….been in a congregation where it has happened”: As a matter of fact, I came to realize that this “walkabout”, Nomadic, Gypsy behaviour happens so frequently in the church, that the sheep have come to accept it as “the norm” and have deadened their senses to such because of the frequency with which it occurs.
I was a part of the congregation of “Southside Christian Renewal Centre” Golda Avenue Salisbury in Brisbane when Chris Peterson stood up one Sunday morning behind the pulpit and announced his resignation from that church,……….leaving half the congregation behind in tears; a congregation which he fathered in the spirit!!!
