This poll shows that over 2/3 of the population supports Sharia law.
Sharia law is backward law which violates, Human rights, women rights, freedom of religion and freedom of expression.
So do Egyptians in generally really supports Freedom of religion or they are similar to the Wahhabis?

Best answer:

Answer by Stratomanssy
Yes, Egyptians believe in human rights, and yes, they support Sharia Law, simply because Sharia Law itself supports human rights!
Islam is often misunderstood, even more so by Saudi women, because Saudi Arabia, and not Islam, mistreats women and takes away their rights. What in Islam says that a woman can’t drive??? Nothing!

I believe in human rights, and I’m a very proud Egyptian Muslim, and I wouldn’t wish to have it any other way.

2011 Evelyn Gibson Lowery Civil Rights Heritage Tour Takes Place on Bloody Sunday Weekend

2011 Evelyn Gibson Lowery Civil Rights Heritage Tour Takes Place on Bloody Sunday Weekend

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 21, 2011

In commemoration of Bloody Sunday, on the weekend of March 5 – 6, SCLC/Women’s Organizational Movement for Equality Now, Inc. (SCLC/W.O.M.E.N) will take bus loads of people from diverse backgrounds on a two-day tour through the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement. Created in 1987, the annual Evelyn Gibson Lowery Civil Rights Heritage Tour visits several historic sites and meets with people instrumental in the Movement. Students, seniors, elected officials, dignitaries, and celebrities have joined the tour over the years.

This year founder and chair of SCLC/Women’s Organizational Movement for Equality Now, Evelyn Gibson Lowery, will honor the family of slain activist, Jimmie Lee Jackson, whose murderer – an Alabama State Trooper – plead guilty to the 1965 crime in 2010 and was sentenced to six months in jail. The tribute will be held directly in front of the monument SCLC/W.O.M.E.N erected in Jackson’s memory at the historic Zion Methodist Church, once a meeting place for civil rights workers.

The tour bus departs from the organization’s headquarters on Auburn Avenue in Atlanta and traces the paths of history by visiting historical sites in Birmingham, Marion, Selma, Whitehall, Montgomery, and Tuskegee, Alabama. In addition to meeting people who made history participating in the movement and reliving events that forced dramatic change in America, the diverse group will visit monuments constructed in memory of: Viola Liuzzo, Rev. Hosea Williams, Earl T. Shinhoster, Coretta Scott King, Rev. James Orange, Rev. James Reeb, Albert Turner, Sr., Rosa Parks, and Freedom Wall. Tour participants will also March across the Edmund Pettus Bridge reenacting the “Bloody Sunday” march.

On March 7, 1965, 600 peaceful protesters started a 50-mile march from Selma to Montgomery in response to Jimmy Lee Jackson’s murder and to protest for voter’s rights. As they crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the marchers were violently attacked by State Troopers with nightsticks and teargas. The violent incident – known as “Bloody Sunday” – was broadcast on live television and caused outrage around the country. Two days later, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a second march that was turned back by State Troopers. After a federal judicial review, over 25,000 people were allowed to march escorted by the National Guard. Soon afterward, Congress passed the Voting Rights Act of 1965 forcing states to end discriminatory voting practices.

The Heritage Tour is open to the public. Travel packages include transportation, lodging, two meals per day, and snacks. For more information call SCLC/Women’s Organizational Movement for Equality Now at (404) 584-0303 or email sclcwomeninc(at)aol(dot)com.

SCLC/Women’s Organizational Movement for Equality Now is an independent 501c(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1979 by Evelyn Gibson Lowery to champion the rights of women, children, families, and responding to the problems of the disenfranchised regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, or religion. Programs include: youth mentoring, domestic violence education, HIV/AIDS education, and computer training. Their Heritage Pride program hosts the annual Evelyn Gibson Lowery Civil Rights Heritage Tour through the cradle of the civil rights movement and has erected 13 monuments honoring civil rights icons.

2012: Patient’s (Doctor’s) Bill Of Rights – PPACA & ERISA Outlaws Anti-Assignment by Insurance Companies

2012: Patient’s (Doctor’s) Bill Of Rights – PPACA & ERISA Outlaws Anti-Assignment by Insurance Companies

Hanover Park, IL (PRWEB) December 31, 2011

ERISAclaim.com announces 2012 Webinars on Patient’s (Doctor’s) Bill Of Rights under health reform laws for claims denials, delays and overpayment crisis. PPACA claims regulations will be fully enforced in 2012 by adopting 36-year-old federal law, ERISA, in its entirety with new protections for patients, doctors and hospitals. PPACA & ERISA Outlaws 36-year-old discriminative anti-assignment practice by all insurance companies and managed care entities, with a new definition of claimant under PPACA, making all doctors and hospitals with valid PPACA and ERISA assignments equally protected under PPACA, also known as “Doctor’s Bills of Rights”, regardless of providers PPO network participation. ERISAclaim.com’s Doctor’s Bill of Rights Webinars starts at $ 5,000 for each two-hour session for each organization.

On November 10, 2011, for the first time in U.S. healthcare history, as a part of PPACA enforcement, federal government launched a “Federal Insurance Department Website” for both patients and providers. On March 16, 2011, Congressional GAO published a report indicating that less than 0.5% of denied claims were appealed in the State of Ohio while 39 to 59% of appeals reversed denied claims.

“While Supreme Court is scheduled in March 2012 to review the constitutionality challenge on PPACA, on May 16, 2011, the Court significantly redefined ERISA with new remedies and protections for patients and providers by its decision in Cigna v. Amara (Case #: 09–804). Regardless of the Supreme Court decision on individual coverage mandate, PPACA claims regulation is completely based on ERISA claim regulation, the 36-year-old federal law, completely governing all employer-sponsored health plan claims,” said says Dr. Jin Zhou, president of ERISAclaim.com, a national expert on PPACA and ERISA appeals and compliance.

According to DOL data, about 77% of insured Americans under employer-sponsored plans have purchased out-of-network coverage by paying higher premiums, out of network doctors and hospitals are completely powerless without PPACA and ERISA compliance if any patients wanted to exercise their rights to see out-of-network doctors and hospitals, warned Dr. Zhou.

ERISAclaim.com’s “Doctors’ Bill of Rights Webinars” will cover following topics with in-depth analysis and compliance of PPACA and ERISA ($ 5,000/2 Hr session/private only):

1.    PPACA “Patient’s Bill of Rights” aka “Doctors’ Bill Of Rights:

http://cciio.cms.gov/programs/marketreforms/billofrights/index.html

“On June 22, 2010, President Obama announced new interim final regulations, the Patient’s Bill of Rights, that include a set of protections that apply to health coverage starting on or after September 23, 2010, six months after the enactment of the Affordable Care Act.”

2.    DOL Affordable Care Act Regulations and Guidance: http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/healthreform/

3.    PPACA Regulations on Internal Claims and Appeals and External Reviews:

4.    EBSA News Release: US Department of Labor’s EBSA creates new consumer assistance Web page [11/10/2011]

5.    “Federal Department Of Insurance Complaints Website” for Doctors and Patients: https://www.askebsa.dol.gov/WebIntake/Home.aspx?submit=Submit+a+Complaint

6.    Congressional GAO Reports: 39% to 59% denial reversal with valid appeals, only 0.5% appeals in Ohio – http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d11268.pdf

7.    DOL: About 77% of Insured Americans Purchased Out-Of-Network Coverage under Private Industry (DOL, BLS, NBS 2010, page 11 of 167): http://stats.bls.gov/ncs/ebs/detailedprovisions/2010/ebbl0047.pdf

8.    How to become a compliant claim expert in Doctor’s Bill Of Rights under PPACA and ERISA, to appeal all wrongful denials and delays for medical necessity, policy limitation, billing coding errors and out-of-network choices and a direct insurance payment.

In addition, ERISA Outlawed anti-assignment practice since January 1, 2003:

http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/regs/fedreg/final/2000029766.pdf (page 70255)

“The proposal eliminated a provision in the 1977 regulation that seemed to imply that representatives of a claimant must be “duly authorized” to act on behalf of the claimant. This change reflected the perception of the Department that no single Federal standard governs the authorization of a representative and that claimants should be able to freely name representatives to act on their behalf…..Specifically, subparagraph (b)(4) provides that a plan’s claims procedures may not preclude an authorized representative (including a health care provider) from acting on behalf of a claimant and further provides that a plan may establish reasonable procedures for verifying that an individual has been authorized to act on behalf of a claimant. …\ This provision, which is a clarification of current law, applies to all employee benefit plans covered under the Act.”

Most importantly, PPACA “Doctor’s Bill Of Rights” redefined “Claimant” for equal protections under Patient’s Bill of Rights:

http://webapps.dol.gov/FederalRegister/PdfDisplay.aspx?DocId=24056 (page 43355)

“(iii) Claimant. Claimant means an individual who makes a claim under this section. For purposes of this section, references to claimant include a claimant’s authorized representative.”

To what extent, for the sake of national security, should individual rights and freedoms be restricted?

Question by ♪: To what extent, for the sake of national security, should individual rights and freedoms be restricted?
Can the restriction of civil rights for the sake of national security be justified?

Should decisions be made by the upper echelons of government in which the American public is not informed?

To what extent?

Have Americans forgotten that they are supposed to be a PART of the system of checks and balances? That it isn’t just the executive, congressional and legislative branches, but that they have a role in this, as well?

Are you concerned about the constitution being subverted in recent years?

What would be your solution to upholding your constitutional rights?

All I can think of is that we learned in high school that america is set up on a balance scale. do whatever you want as long as you don’t put yourself or anyone else in danger. I agree with that. And as long as people are stupid, the government will have to intervene. It’s a way of life.

America has proven with the copy cat criminals that authority figures have to keep certain things private in order to protect the whole country. Sure, let them keep secrets; we all do it. and they got in their positions for a reason.

What are 5 things in common between the US Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?

Question by wheezer: What are 5 things in common between the US Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
For Honors History, I need to compare the Constitution and the UDHR. What are 5 points in the Declaration that are also clearly stated in the Constitution?

Best answer:

Answer by George S
There are similarities but the UDHR is much more idealized. It also gives a loophole I’m sure is used regularly by political leaders around the world. Politicians everywhere are what I call masters of expedience and will continually have crisis allowing them exceptions of all kinds even if they must manufacture the crisis.

Our Bill of Rights was created separately from the Constitution by an opposing faction (anti-Federalist farmers and tradesmen) to the people sponsoring the Constitution (Federalist Party bankers and merchants). Those rights were intended as protection against the Constitution and the people who sponsored it. Included was citizens rights to military weapons for forcing those rights when they were threatened by governments.

The UDHR is far to idealistic and dependent on the UN to enforce. There is no guarantee to arms for the people to enforce it against governments and the UN if even they violate it. They are far too unreliable to be trusted and so is any governing group. I suspect the main function of the UDHR is to provide HRC members fat salaries and secure bureaucratic positions to pretend they are actually doing something worthwhile when it actually futile.

None of it will hold up as resources again become strained by the still-grossly overpopulating cultures around the world. Expanding hordes of desperate people has always caused most wars. The propaganda involved is just to rationalize what the burgeoning hordes must do anyway: slaughter their neighbors and take their land for coming generations with even larger populations.

Instead of wasting their time with this kind of empty words making futile proclamations they should focus on promoting birth control everywhere. The world needs to shed 4 billion or more people before any hope of sustained peace and cooperation is possible.

What are two ways the constitution allows our government to make decisions concerning individual rights?

Question by Young Quezy: What are two ways the constitution allows our government to make decisions concerning individual rights?
What are two ways the constitution allows our government to make decisions concerning individual rights?

Also, whats one situation where the United Sates government has suspended individual rights to protect the “common good”?

Give as much description as you can, thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by fredo
The Constitution gives Congress the ability to suspend habeas corpus (the doctrine saying you have a right to a hearing if you are being detained) in times of war or insurrection, effectively allowing Congress to decide that individual rights are outweighed by national security.

Also, the Constitution gives Congress the authority to enforce the 14th Amendment, which guarantees the same rights for all people. So they are allowed to make decisions regarding individual rights when it comes to making states give their citizens equal rights.

The government has suspended habeas corpus, once during the Civil War, once during Reconstruction, and again recently following 9-11.

If you think that God grants and justifies human rights, does God endorse the right to freedom of religion?

Question by Pull My Finger: If you think that God grants and justifies human rights, does God endorse the right to freedom of religion?
Or if you subscribe to the theory that human rights come from God, would you then have to believe that freedom of religion is the one right you DON’T have, since most religions teach that their god considers the practice of other religions an abominable practice?

I have to say, on the face of things, let’s say from the Bible, that God’s record on human rights is not very good. He seems at best very capricious, and toys with people, testing them arbitrarily, punishing innocent and guilty alike; at the very worst, he seems to emulate quite accurately a modern day totalitarian dictator. Ancient Israel reminds me a lot of Soviet Russia or North Korea in terms of a Mr. Big ruling by fear and reward.
