Getting Modern with Home Security in Washington and Michigan

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

The question of how to get up to date in technology will always occupy the minds of business owners, but it should also be answered as you install a home security system in Michigan or Washington state. While certain items like door locks and fire extinguishers are timeless and never lose their purpose, others like security cameras and new motion sensors are being updated by the year. The more you know about the options, the better off your home security plan will be. Here are five ways to make sure you’re up to date.

1. Channel your smoke detectors and all other devices to your alarm console. Sometimes, it’s not what type of home alarm you have, but how you use it, which makes it modern. Bring any and all sensors in play at your house into your main alarm console to make sure the signals will be heard. You can have a security technicians handle this job for you, or if you are working on your own, it also won’t be too difficult. Just make sure you run a test or two afterwards to see if the setup worked.

2. Invest in an anti-pick lock and metal frame door. While strong doors and locks never go out of style, the type of lock and door you use can be updated. New deadbolts which cannot be picked are gaining in popularity among homeowners looking for that extra oomph in a security plan. At the same time, metal frame doors have been proven to be the toughest thing on the market, though they are not going to win any beauty contests.

3. Use a monitoring service which can’t be shut down. Monitoring services remain one of the essentials in Washington and Michigan home security plans. What has changed a bit is the standard by which these services are held. While knowing your alarm was being monitored at all was enough to be satisfied in the past, today’s services should have the ability to be impervious to power outages or other problems on the local grid. How is it possible? Rerouting the signal from your alarm to another region is the way national security companies handle the issue.

4. Get into night vision and motion sensor cameras. The old closed circuit cameras can have their weaknesses, so if you set up your surveillance program in the past, you ought to review its viability in modern times. Night vision and motion sensors are two features that can bring your home security surveillance up to date right away. You won’t have to waste time with wasted footage or energy with wasted light if you know your cameras are going on only when necessary.

5. Use DVR services to answer the lingering questions. How to handle the footage you film is one of the issues you must address when you set up surveillance cameras. DVR services allow to ease back on monitoring if the question is not life threatening. Record hundreds of hours of footage and if you have a problem, it will be there on film.

Use ADT to get up to date with your Tacoma, WA home security plan. If you need to see beyond the obvious, get wireless home security cameras in grand rapids and answer your questions.

Washington State, Catholic Resident Fires Back at Atheist Group’s Anti-Religion Placard next to Christian Nativity Scene

Washington State, Catholic Resident Fires Back at Atheist Group’s Anti-Religion Placard next to Christian Nativity Scene

Olympia, WA (PRWEB) December 6, 2008

A Washington State Resident is responding publicly to a state sanctioned atheist attack on the Christmas holiday.

Steve Sanborn of Mead, Washington, this week sent a formal email to the Washington State Attorney General’s office with hopes he might persuade state officials to understand that an atheistic attack on religion is not equal to an artful depiction of historical religious beliefs.

The state this week authorized a placard to be placed in the state Capitol by the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) of Madison, Wisconsin. The placard is placed next to an authorized Christian Nativity scene. Several Christian organizations are also filing complaints to the state.

Sanborn says the offensive placard is not a statement of belief but rather an attack on Christ-centered holy days and Christianity itself.

The placard reads, in part, “At this season of the Winter Solstice may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”

“Merry Christmas to you too,” Sanborn said. “I’m a Catholic and the placard posted by the Freedom From Religion Foundation essentially states that I am therefore cruel and stupid – and the state has sanctioned this?

“Even Ebenezer Scrooge opted to leave Christmas alone. Why can’t atheists be as generous as Scrooge at Christmas and leave it alone?” Sanborn asked.

The Nativity scene and Atheist placard were installed alongside each other in a hallway between the state Senate and House chambers, separated by a large bust of the state’s namesake, George Washington. These and other displays were granted permits from state groundskeepers to be placed in the Capitol’s grand marble hallways.

Sanborn said he does not recall FFRF ever making a public foray when Muslim or Jewish holidays are in season.

“We live in a predominantly Christian nation, not an atheist one. If it is equal time these people want, then perhaps they ought to erect their own stable with no one in it,” Sanborn said. “This would actually reflect what they believe rather than attack those who believe otherwise.”

FFRF co-president, Dan Barker, was quoted in recent news as saying it was important for atheists to offer their viewpoint alongside the overtly religious Nativity scene.

“Our members want equal time. Not to muscle, not to coerce, but just to have a place at the table,” said Barker.

“For the state to assert that such a placard is somehow equal in the world of ideas merely shows its inability to be logical,” Sanborn stated. “Will the state now allow me to offer my viewpoint on a placard that says Atheism is a form of insanity?”

As Bill O’Reilly did earlier this week, Sanborn says he encourages other Christians to contact Washington State Governor, Christine Gregoire, at 360-902-4111 to respectfully tell her how they feel about the offensive placard.

New Church of Scientology Grand Opening In Washington, DC

Three thousand Scientologists and guests attended the dedication and opening of the new Founding Church of Scientology of Washington, DC, October 31, 2009. The ribbon was pulled by Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center

Washington, DC (PRWEB) November 9, 2009

On Saturday, October 31, the Founding Church of Scientology of Washington, DC, opened its new premises six blocks from the White House and minutes from Capitol Mall. Attended by nearly 3,000 Scientologists and guests, the Church was dedicated by Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion.

The building, over 49,000 square feet, represents the Church of Scientology’s largest presence ever in the nation’s capital, a presence that dates back to the 1955 establishment of the Founding Church of Scientology in the District by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard–an occasion considered a milestone in the establishment of Scientology as the only major religion founded in the 20th century, a religion that has since become the fastest-growing religion in the world.

Mr. Miscavige and other speakers gave special praise to the millions of Scientologists world over who have given of their time and effort to make the Church’s anti-drug education initiative the largest non-governmental program of its kind and the Church’s human rights education program the largest on earth. They also praised the work of over 195,000 registered Scientology Volunteer Ministers trained to respond in times of disaster.

In expressing the importance of a prominent Scientology Church in the nation’s capitol Mr. Miscavige stated:

“In a word, this Church is the sum total of all our history and all LRH envisioned when serving as our first Executive Director.

“This is also the kind of Church he envisioned when authoring our programs and campaigns–in anticipation of a day when turmoil knocks out the props and the whole social veneer collapses…”

“Which, of course, is exactly what happened–and thus what prompted our Wake-up Call after 9/11…wherein our history intersects with the history of this nation.”

Yet the significance of a major Church of Scientology in Washington, DC, runs much deeper as Mr. Miscavige made clear:

“You are looking at a living embodiment of the freedom and equality that originally inspired this nation because, yes, this Church stands for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, yes, it stands here today because of the freedom on which this nation was built–the freedom of religion. For it was here, in this nation’s capital, that we fought for and won our recognition.”

And in the words of Congressman Brad Sherman of California’s 27th District in his address to the gathering:

“I have worked diligently and continuously to express my views, and I believe the views of the entire Congress, that all countries should treat all religions equally and provide true freedom of religion for everyone.”

Congressman Sherman praised the Church’s efforts in raising awareness of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and stated that the battle for human rights includes bringing human rights awareness to all people.

“That is why the efforts of many churches and religious organizations to focus on human rights issues are so important.”

Others speaking and participating in the dedication of the new Scientology Church were Ms. Addie Richburg, President and Chairman of the Board of the National Alliance of Faith and Justice; Ms. Diane Rothe-Smith, Executive Director of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD); and Mr. Mike Silverstein, President of the Dupont Circle Advisory Neighborhood Association who also represented District of Columbia Mayor Adrian M. Fenty.

Rev. Sylvia Stanard, Director of Public Affairs for the Founding Church, invited all inside to tour the new Church, which includes numerous multimedia presentations in its Public Information Center, describing fundamentals of the Scientology religion, the Church’s worldwide humanitarian and social betterment programs, and the life and legacy of L. Ron Hubbard. As in any Church of Scientology, the doors are always open for people to walk in and find out for themselves.

Washington, DC, played a pivotal role in the life of the Founder of the Scientology religion. At age 13, as America’s youngest Eagle Scout, L. Ron Hubbard traveled cross-country to meet President Calvin Coolidge. As a student at George Washington University in the early 1930s, Mr. Hubbard learned the scientific methodology he later applied to unlocking the riddle of the human mind and life. After World War II, he tested Dianetics techniques on numerous cases at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital and wrote the first manuscript of his discoveries in Dianetics: The Original Thesis. In 1955, he established the Founding Church and became its Executive Director.

The Founding Church of Scientology of Washington, DC, represents a milestone for the Scientology religion, which comprises more than 8,000 Churches, Missions and groups in 165 nations. As part of the continuing program to meet the demand for Scientology services, new Churches have been established in Berlin, Johannesburg, London, Madrid, New York and San Francisco. Earlier this year, new Churches opened in Malmo, Sweden; Dallas, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee and October 24, in Rome–five new landmark Scientology Churches opened newly in the last six months.
