Yes, and it has been. Blacks aren’t 3/5ths human any more and hopefully soon americans won’t be able to carry guns.

The US Constitution can be amended, and it is always open for interpretation by the US Supreme Court, but it will never be rewritten.

The constitution isn’t written base on public opinion of the week. It sets the standards of how the US Goverment is run. It has been our policy for over 220 years. Any amendment requires the majority of congress and 3/4 of the states to ratified. So you probably have a better chance of seeing God, then an new amendment to the constitution.

What is outdated about it? Plus you can never take anything off the Constitution you can only amend it. Our founders made sure that others couldn’t tamper with it to supplant the will of the people.

The founding fathers included guidelines for amending the Constitution. What you’re asking can already be done.

No. That’s one of the basic documents for our country’s existence today.

That is like asking if the Bible or Koran should be written to reflect our modern age materialism. The answer is no. Unlike the Bible or the Koran, we can make amendments to the constitution so that it can address the rights of Americans in a modern age.

Never. The liberals would totally gut the 2nd amendment and make possession of any kind of weapon a criminal offense, and the conservatives would eliminate several kinds of civil liberties regarding due process. NOBODY would care about the neglected 10th amendment where citizens retain rights.

The constitution covers are rights and responsilbilities according to the law. The people that wrote the constitution knew that things were going to come up in the future that would need to be regulated, but they of course could never know what that would be. However, the judicial branch can take modern situations and interpret them under the laws of the Constitution. For example, in the 18th century, the makers of the constitution never could have imagined the concepts such as the internet and video voyerism. However, vouyerism violates a citizens reasonable right to privacy, which the archaic constitution does protect.

The Constitution was designed so that we don’t have to do this. It is a living, breathing document. We can add or take away from it. The founding fathers knew that in order to make a country work they needed to give the people in different eras able to assess and add/take away from it depending on what fit for that time and place and popular opinion.
The Constitution was written so we didn’t have to be like the French, who rewrite there Constitution (or I can’t remember what exactly it is called) every 10 years (I believe.)
I think there is no need for it to be rewritten. It is a living and breathing document. And so long as our country is living, so will it.

No. My modern concerns are people who disrespect and disregard our constitution.
