What excesses were there in the American revolution? Death, Hunger, or Cold?
The constitution was a fulfillment of the the Revolution, in the fact that the whole war was fought simply for the right to make such a document!

  • I believe that the revolution contained an idea of majoritarianism. It was best articulated by madison in his address to the convention on the “Fundamental Theory of a Republic.” (or something like that). In it he basically laid out the idea that the majority has the right to make law as long as there was reasonable defense given to the minority. Even earlier on, during the rev. the opinion of different people in different states held that the people at large had the true power to amend const. and to create society. So given this, and the federalist need to represent the nation -or the masses of the people -the const. was a fullfilment of this idea. The const. also allowed for defenses of the states, another consistency with madison’s opinion. So yeah I think the const. was a fulfillment of the revolution.
