In addition, Google search will launch on two Freedom newspaper-related web sites, OCRegister.com in Orange County, California and ENCToday.com in Eastern North Carolina, by the end of January.

As part of the Google DC Talks series, Jim Young of Google moderated a discussion on “National Security and Web 2.0.” Panelists Lt. Col. Patrick Michaelis of the US Army and Dr. Calvin Andrus and Sean Dennehy of the CIA explained how their organizations are using Web 2.0 tools to share knowledge quickly and make intelligence assessments. The panel also discussed the technical and cultural challenges to bringing Internet tools to the national security realm. This event took place on June 12, 2009 at Google’s offices in Washington, DC
