American Tubman
Freedom of Religion
"I looked at my hands, to see if I was de same person now I was free. Dere was such a glory ober eberything, de sun came like gold trou de trees, and ober de fields, and I felt like I was in heaven."

"I knew of a man who was sent to the State Prison for twenty-five years. All these years he was always thinking of his home, and counting by years, months, and days, the time till he should be free, and see his family and friends once more. The years roll on, the time of imprisonment is over, the man is free. He leaves the prison gates, he makes his way to his old home, but his old home is not there. The house in which he had dwelt in his childhood had been torn down, and a new one had been put up in its place; his family were gone, their very name was forgotten, there was no one to take him by the hand to welcome him back to life.
So it was wid me. I had crossed de line of which I had so long been dreaming. I was free; but dere was no one to welcome me to de land of freedom, I was a stranger in a strange land, and my home after all was down in de old cabin quarter, wid de ole folks, and my brudders and sisters. But to dis solemn resolution I came; I was free, and dey should be free also; I would make a home for dem in de North, and de Lord helping me, I would bring dem all dere. Oh, how I prayed den, lying all alone on de cold, damp ground; ‘Oh, dear Lord,’ I said, ‘I haint got no friend but you. Come to my help, Lord, for I’m in trouble!’"

does your place of worship appreciate freedom of religion?

Question by Mom of Three: does your place of worship appreciate freedom of religion?
I’m just wondering why a religon would claim to be politically neutral but also take total advantage of “freedom of religion” law. And also, if a member decides they don’t want to be that religion anymore and they decide to exercise their right to have freedom of religion by leaving that religion they are punished for it.

Answer by gutbucket
No. I don’t have to worry about it, since I have no religion.

Do Egyptians really believe in human rights and freedom of religion?

Question by Saudi Hotgirl: Do Egyptians really believe in human rights and freedom of religion?
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/010115.php
This poll shows that over 2/3 of the population supports Sharia law.
Sharia law is backward law which violates, Human rights, women rights, freedom of religion and freedom of expression.
So do Egyptians in generally really supports Freedom of religion or they are similar to the Wahhabis?

Best answer:

Answer by Stratomanssy
Yes, Egyptians believe in human rights, and yes, they support Sharia Law, simply because Sharia Law itself supports human rights!
Islam is often misunderstood, even more so by Saudi women, because Saudi Arabia, and not Islam, mistreats women and takes away their rights. What in Islam says that a woman can’t drive??? Nothing!

I believe in human rights, and I’m a very proud Egyptian Muslim, and I wouldn’t wish to have it any other way.

If freedom of religion is not also freedom from religion, why are businesses allowed to be open on Saturday?

Question by Anonnie Mouse (haz a rainbow from jeezus): If freedom of religion is not also freedom from religion, why are businesses allowed to be open on Saturday?
Saturday is a holy day in some religions, but not in others. If we don’t actually have freedom from religions we do not ourselves follow, then why are people allowed to run their businesses on the holy days of religions they don’t practice?

New Rules – Season 3 (part 2)

Obama decries Internet shut-down in Egypt while his own administration prepares to enact same draconian powers to crush dissent during times of political upheaval in America. Kill Switch: Obama Administration Fears Egypt-Style Revolt In US Paul Joseph Watson www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv January 31, 2011 The Obama administration is busy attempting to pass legislation that would give the President a kill switch for the Internet in the United States while at the same time decrying Egyptian authorities for shutting down the Internet in a bid to deflate the unfolding revolution against Hosni Mubarak. The reason is simple — the government fears an Egypt-style revolt occurring in the US and wants to block access to the world wide web if and when it happens. Chicago radio host and occasional Alex Jones Show guest Mancow Muller called it right during an appearance on Mike Huckabee’s show this weekend. “It’s in all the newspapers, ‘Ohblahblah’, we’ve got to free up Twitter, we’ve got to free up the Internet and Facebook for these poor Egyptians — this is the President that let Wikileaks and all of this stuff happen,” said Mancow. “They create the problems and we react to fear — the the four letter f-word that controls the masses and they offer the solution, “they” being the government. This is the President that wants the kill switch for the Internet….he wants a kill switch.” “They fear….social networking, Twitter, Facebook, all of this stuff, but oh, no, we must have
