Forget all that crap designed to screw you up.
All you need to know about the difference between need and want is this.
You need food. Without it you will die.
You need shelter. Without it, exposed to the elements and predators. you will die.
You need clothing. Without it, exposed to the elements, you will die.
Everything else is a want. Even if you don’t have it you will still live. But if you do not have those three things you will surely die.
