At university to get our exam papers back with the examiners’ notes on them, we need to pay a fee of £10, but should we need to do this when the information is legally entitled to us by the Freedom of Information Act?
There are no materials other than my exam paper. I already pay thousands of pounds for this degree too.
Freedom of Information in Britain is relevant in this instance, yes.

FOIA normally applies to government agencies.
You could try and file a claim citing what you think is the relevant portion of the Act, but good luck with that.

That fee is to cover the costs of labor and materials.

You are not asking for information, you are asking for paperwork. These would probably be copies and you need to pay for the person doing the copying and the materials.

I don’t know about Britain, even if it has a Freedom of Information Act, but in US, the FOIA applies ONLY to government agencies, and they can charge copying fees.
