Mayday For Marriage: Self-Righteous Jamboree Albany, NY, May 24th 2011

Anti same-sex marriage rally by the Mayday For Marriage crowd. It’s my first time using my camcorder, and my first time working on any kind of video, and first time learning/using imovie. I know it’s kinda rough but… As Max Blumenthal might say, “Feel The Hate.” I’d put it more like “Feel the idio(theo)cracy.” Enjoy…

FreedomFest is an annual festival where “free minds meet” to celebrate “great books, great ideas, and great thinkers” in an open-minded society. It is independent, non-partisan, and not affiliated with any organization or think tank. Founded and produced by Mark Skousen, since 2002, FreedomFest invites the “best and the brightest” from around the world to talk, strategize, socialize, and celebrate liberty. FreedomFest is open to all and is purely egalitarian, where speakers, attendees, and exhibitors are treated as equals. www.freedomfest.com Christopher Hitchens (born 1949) is an author, journalist and literary critic. Currently living in Washington, DC, he has been a columnist at Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation, Slate, Free Inquiry, and a variety of other media outlets. Hitchens is also a political observer, whose books — the latest being “God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything” — have made him a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits. In 2009 Hitchens was listed by Forbes magazine as one of the “25 most influential liberals in US media.” The same article noted, though, that he would “likely be aghast to

  • @reticeon Good heavens. How embarrassing.

  • @wizzolf theme song to “Fistful of Dollars.” — “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” I think.

  • ZIONIST not Sionist

    Christopher not chritofer

    Hitchens not hitchings

Perhaps one should consider learning to spell correctly. Before attempting to lambast mister Hitchens with such perfunctory right-wing nonsence. Hitchens is not a zionist he is the Messiah!

  • this is rather the dark side, the immoral teachings of Cristofer Hitchings! SIONIST.

  • @mrskarenkatz Twenty bucks says you’re wrong. I’ll even give you 10:1 odds.

  • @UninstallingWindows Wasn’t there a televangelist a few decades ago that made a lot of money with his televangelising business? And later it was found out he was actually an Atheist? I don’t remember his name, but I remember a story like that.

I now wonder if part of why Christopher Hitchen vigorously attacks his opponents like Agnes Bojaxhiu, Henry Hissinger, and Diana Spencer is to compensate for briefly befriending Robert Mugabe.

  • @Eaglessharp _Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland_ is a work of FICTION, just like your precious Bible. Not one shred of credible evidence has EVER been uncovered to support any of the extraordinary claims it contains. It is purely a concoction of barely literate Bronze and Iron Age men who knew virtually nothing of the natural order. To answer your question: yes, I have read the Bible … and the Qur’an … and the Upanishads … and the Analects … and many, many other religious texts.

  • At around 2:40 Hitchens does something which is so fundamental to science and skeptical philosophy, which religion lacks almost entirely, was the admittance of a mistake. He was humbled by an event which he had compete control over, and openly admitted it. That is what sets science apart from religion: an encouragement of self-correction. Religion works by suppressing this, because if any religion encourages people to question it, in time it will be found to be unreliable and invalid.

  • @uscjd2004 You like to debate, hm? Alice in Wonderland: doesn’t it support a designer of this Wonderland? You did not answer my question, which is weak debating. You probably have an opinion without even looking at the evidence. You just come up with overexacourating hyperbolic nonsense. Sorry, come back when you are an adult, or have a more grown-up attitude.

  • @Eaglessharp That is absolute nonsense. In fact, the data DO NOT support H(0). Only a thoroughly credulous reading of the paltry works of the most deluded apologists would render this conclusion.

“If things are written down we usually call that evidence.”

_Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland_ was written down, too.

@UninstallingWindows well its like the founder of scientology said, if you want to get rich, start a religion.

  • @gekritzl If things are written down we usually call that evidence. Two theories: H(0): Bible accurately describes the history of Adam and his progeny. H(1): The Bible does not. The detailed information and a lot of data that fits geographic data are in favour of H(0). According to Bayesian strategy we never can rule out H(0) or H(1), except a moron who defines P(H(0))= 0% before even looking at the evidence available. Have you actually ever read the Bible from cover to cover? Prejustice is weak
