Do You Know Why Was the Constitution Created?

The Constitution

During the old times, the 50 states of America used to have different leaders. But when these states became one country, all of them knew that there should be a robust foundation in the land, which is the fundamental law. This is actually the primary reason why was the constitution created.

Seven years prior to the creation of the current Constitution, there were the Articles of the Confederation. This was drafted to be the supreme law that would govern the rest of the United States. Unfortunately, the Congress does not have enough power since most of it was already allocated to the individual states. As a result, each state already created their own rules and set of tax systems. The reason why was the constitution created during that time is to ensure that the United States of America will survive as one country and would not have independent states, ruling on their own.

The people of the yesteryears also call this as the constitution declaration of independence. Since many countries all over the world were governed through monarchy during the 1700’s, the leaders have all the power to control their land. Thankfully, the Founding Fathers of America knew that such system is unjust and may result into chaos eventually. Therefore, they created the Constitution to give power to the people to choose the leader who they think is right for the country. In this way, there is a lesser chance of having a violent revolution just like what happened when the British took over America.

Thanks to the current Constitution, every individual also got their rights as well. They have the freedom to speak their minds, the right to practice the religious belief that they have faith in, and the right to remain silent to name a few. Women also had the right to vote, an amendment which was passed during the 1920’s. But the most important amendment that was made because of the Constitution was putting an end to slavery.

For some, there is no reason to bother why was the constitution created. But the society should really pay attention and importance to the inscribed laws. They must appreciate the freedom that they have today. This is the freedom which was constrained to the people who lived prior to the framing of the Constitution.

The quality of life and the freedom that are experienced by the Americans today are all because of the Constitution in the country.
