  • Well, that’s fascinating Dr. Franklin. We had to fight a second revolutionary war to free slaves, just 85 years later.

we the people of the united states, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of our liberty to ourselves and our postarity. do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America <3

  • “We fought one war for liberty, I hope we won’t have to fight another.”
Ironic foreshadowing, considering we did have to fight another war to free slaves. Poor Ben and Moses, I’d hate to think how they would’ve reacted upon seeing the Civil War. I’m actually glad they didn’t get to live long enough to see it, one war was already too much for them. 🙁

  • @MsSarah629 He went to France but he never said good-bye to us 🙁
I feel un-loved by him now lol

  • 🙂 jksrhlkjsdh tegakd8u yrew

  • What about Henri!? Where was he this whole episode? In a tree? Or did he go to France with Lafayette? We didn’t watch him say good-bye! 🙁

  • It’s funny how when I was young, I use to watch this all the time because I loved the animation but couldn’t understand what they were talking about. Now I watch this thinking ” If my teacher played this for us, then I might have passed US History”

  • The founding fathers would be ashamed today.

@clarygirl977 I can just imagine the main characters being 100 and still taking notes for the newspaper.

They skipped some huge parts of what happened. They skipped the controversy of the constitution and the Bill of Rights that there were at first, until there were some meetings to change it or convince people it was a better idea.

What James should’ve said: Suddenly anything seems possible! Sarah, will you marry me?

@biblegirl I’d watch it. They’d have the war of 1812 or the period of gradually better relations with England and using hatred of the British to get the Irish to vote in elections.

  • When will they kiss???

  • @DimensionsofChange lol

  • I liked this series. Wish they had a similiar one about the civil war, but with different characters. That would be kinda creepy if they had 100 year old main characters. Maybe they could have James, Sarah, Mosesm and Henri’s children or grandchildren. Then maybe we could find out what happened to them all. Wish i know more

the articles of confederation gave most of the government’s power to the states. each individual state had their own laws, form of currency, trading regulations, and stuff like that. this could cause major conflicts between each state and it did. the articles led to many rebellions until congress decided it was time to create a strong central government with 3 co equal branches with a system of checks and balances so one branch doesn’t become too powerful! thumbs up if i should become a S.S teacher

They need to make series like this for The War of 1812, The Civil War, The Great Depression, World War 1, and World War 2. They would be so awesome!

  • Luther had been talking for so long that even Ben Franklin fell asleep. Better cut it short Luther! XD

@044sakura I find it disappointing they weren’t in the series finale at all, but based on my understanding Lafayette was back at France during that time (he did come back a couple of times), so I guess they wanted to avoid as many historical inaccuracies as they possibly could.

    @044sakura
Yeah, I was disappointed about that too 🙁

  • @HarryPotterismyhome Lol. Understandable. There are those kinds of comments on youtube. But yeah, nothing sexual meant. Sorry for the confusion.
On a side note, nice to know a younger generation is interested in history. 🙂

@rurouni324 lol. It’s fine. What happened was I was in a hotel room with my little cousin (we’re on vacation!) and we were watching this. So she wanted to read the comments and so I was looking with her (she’s 10) and I saw your comment and thought it was something sexual at first. I was like “Oh my god!” I wouldn’t let her see it until I figured out it wasn’t. ahaha pretty funny I just had to tell ya I guess 🙂 lol

  • @HarryPotterismyhome Haha. Sorry about that. Simply put: Washington is my hero and it’d be cool to see what he was like in person. And I find it funny that the characters reallly don’t age.

  • HarryPotterismyhome

    June 19, 2011 at 5:58 pm

@rurouni324 I have to admit, ur comment disturbed me a little bit at first. haha.

  • Henri, James and Sarah should be married by now. They’re 21, 27 and 28.

  • Wow. Washington aged quite gracefully. Haha jk.
Still, if I could go back in time and meet anyone, it’d be him.

  • Good job on writing a curvey line James at 5:50.

  • wow 6 hours straight and barely starting? and i thought i talked a lot.
    LOL
