1. amnesty is the promise to start the process of citizenship. it is not a certificate of citizenship in itself. there is a process (background check, English tests, fees, oaths, etc) that has to be completed for citizenship.
2. illegal “aliens” contribute much more to the economy than they get back in government services. these are people who do work for incredibly deflated wages. this means that if an American were doing the same job, they would have to pay them much more! plus they would have to provide them benefits (sick and vacation days) and a degree of safety. and that would eat away at corporate profits.
illegal aliens do not get social security or medical(caid?). they are generally afraid to call the police if something happens to them. they do not demand things from their congressmen/senators/mayors/etc. like parks, schools, crime reduction, etc.
the majority of people who you see at labor protests, etc. were born here and are therefore Americans (just like you). illegal immigrants have no leg to stand on to demand anything. they do what they are told and take what they can get.
Please get your facts straight. No Mexican (or any other immigrant) is taking your job. The economy sucks. It’s called capitalism, corporate greed, and a big “effing” bureaucracy that makes policy to benefit the rich. Forget about the immigrants. They are not the problem.
