Nearly 10 years after the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, US forces are said to have assassinated the Saudi-born founder of Al Qaeda inside Pakistan. At the time of his death, Bin Laden was living in a heavily fortified mansion just a mile from the Pakistani Army’s principal military academy. The US operation was reportedly carried out by 25 Navy Seals under the command of the Joint Special Operations Command. It is unclear what role Pakistan played in the killing. One explanation why the story keeps changing and why Bin Laden’s body was dumped at sea could be DNA, or fingerprints. If Bin Laden had a weapon (first version) then forensic tests could have verified this. But if there’s no body, there’s no DNA now. David Hicks’ ‘Guantanamo’ book says Bin Laden moved freely around Afghanistan in 2000-2001 when BLIS had drones and CIA on the ground, and could have killed him anytime — if they wanted to.

I think that contrary to what Alex and his guest think, the Obama administration want to have an excuse to exit out of Pakistan and Afghanistan and Iraq because it’s unsustainable to fund all these occupations.
