Q&A: What do you think are the MAIN issues that qualify as National Security concerns?

Question by Serenity08: What do you think are the MAIN issues that qualify as National Security concerns?
Someone has said (as an answer to a prev question) that only terrorist threat is a National Security concern.

How about dependence on foreign oil? How about China and India’s fast growing demand for oil, putting pressure on supply…and leading to rapid price increases? Isn’t that a National Security concern?

How about our debt to China?

How about border security?

How about the outsorucing of certain jobs that deal with our safety and security?

Please add to the list…

How much attention should we give to these issues and others?

America’s imperial attitude toward the other nations and people of the world. When we drop that, lots of the other issues will go away.

  • 1. Islamic extremism.

    2. Dependence on foreign oil…long term problem with long term solutions that all candidates have addressed.

    3. Debt to China? No. They hold <10% of our national debt, less than Japan,...and they can't dump it.

    4. Border security...I don't think the Mexicans will invade. For more pressing problems see #1.

    5. Outsourcing? I haven't noticed us outsourcing the military. It's how we compete. The solution is training and increasing our skills.
