New Book Reintroduces the Central Teachings of Christianity

San Ramon, Costa Rica (PRWEB) August 6, 2006

Dr. John W. Gilmore aims to reinvigorate the mystical Christian tradition by making the teachings of Jesus available to all people, from all faiths, and all higher thinking philosophies in his new book, “Reclaiming the Religion of Jesus in a Modern Age.”

Dr. John W. Gilmore discusses the central, universal teachings of the church before it became adopted by the Roman Empire as a state religion. He reintroduces the central teachings of Christianity, “The Kingdom of Heaven is within you,” and discusses how people can change their lives and find spiritual liberation by believing in this original teaching.

“Reclaiming the Religion of Jesus in a Modern Age” is a deep exploration of Christian teachings through the eyes of the mystics and sages from all faiths. “Reclaiming the Religion of Jesus in a Modern Age” re-introduces readers to the theology of Jesus and the power of his teaching. It liberates readers from a theology that has been tainted by the culture of men and the politics of human institutions.

Dr. John Gilmore wrote “Reclaiming the Religion of Jesus in a Modern Age” to give people from all religious faiths an opportunity to share in the teachings of Jesus, and to share the freedom derived from his pure, unchanged message. His intention was to remove Jesus from the cross, and to put forth the idea of the resurrected Jesus and the great teacher who walked among the common people and healed them.

“Jesus’ message is still available and powerful today,” said Gilmore. “We still have governments and institutions intertwined. Many religious institutions are so burdened with the culture of their day that they are no longer transformational, like the original church or message. It is time, once again, for people to seek a direct connection with the Divine, as Jesus taught throughout his ministry on Earth.”

“Realizing that the Kingdom of Heaven is within, and seeking and finding it there gives, one direct access to God. It washes away the false self-image and allows us to tap into who and what we really are.”
