  • i would say protecting the rights because our right are being taken away right now!!!

  • I think national security is the most important because if were not all safe then there is no reason to have those rights in the constitution. But we cant go to far by removing all rights from people because they might be dangerous to our nation. We need to be sure that the people who we remove rights from are actually dangerous. And i disagree with the closing of guantanamo bay.

  • Protecting rights is the most important thing, it would be a very sad thing to be “safe” without any rights(communism).

  • Even though it is near impossible to make this black and white, I will do this as simply as I can.

If someone came to your house and said you could never use technology again, because if you do you would be shot on sight by terrorists, what do you do?

Not only are your “rights” being violated, but your security is being threatened. So what do you do?

So the real question is not what is more important, but would you rather live, or die?

To boot, you “rights” are perfectly fine, because of the national security we have in place. The government doesn’t go around and just listen in on your gossip drenched phone call with your girlfriends because it can. There is a methodical legal process to the patriot act, just as much as there is a methodical legal process if you get a speeding ticket. EVERYONE is in check on the enforcement side, so you have nothing to worry about. Only Joe Terrorist should be worrying.
